Affective Computing
Another Medical AI Innovation

A new AI system that is used in app- and text-based chat software with emotional analytics.
Some weeks ago, I was discussing numerous ideas in a book called 2084 by John Lennox. Therein, I mentioned a little technology in medical artificial intelligence called Affective Computing. This is a computer science under development at MIT with the help of a company named Empatica.
What is Affective Computing?
Affective Computing is a new AI system that is used in app- and robotic text-based chat software programmed with sensitivities in its interaction with humans, so it seems much less…well…robotic. It does this principally by offering encouragement and adapting to the emotional cues and triggers of its users. In a previous blog, I spoke about the research end of that project at MIT; but in this one, I wanted to talk about a couple of applications for its use. This is going to be a pretty remarkable step forward.
