Conservatives Are Dead-Wrong About Socialized Medicine
As they are about most everything lately!
So this is not going to be a long one. I just wanted to share a quick little factoid that impressed upon me how unbelievably out of touch conservatives are whenever they speak about single-payer or socialized medical programs.
In the developed world, you really only see this kind of *populism (and I have no clue how it ever paradoxically became a populist position, by the way) among a rather large subset of American Republicans — generally libertarians and Trump supporters.
Recently, I had posted an article based on a mental health care initiative for the youth here in Canada. It’s called AOM — which stands for ACCESS Open Minds.
It’s one of the most generously funded programs the Canadian government has ever spent on a health care research project. There are a number of mental health services they provide to the youth. If you want to learn more about it, follow this link:
