Memory – How Much Confidence Can One Place In It?
This changes everything!

Much recent memory research suggests that our recollections are frequently unreliable.
In a previous work entitled Mental Events Are More Real Than Reality Itself, I spoke in detail about how memories are formed. The reason I titled that one the way I did is because there are some profound implications the reactivation of memory (and visualization generally) holds for The Law of Attraction; you can use it to combat trauma and even manifest a more positive life.
In this piece, I wish to build on some of those concepts and speak about flashbulb memories. Even though I will not talk about LOA so much herein, this will give you a much greater appreciation for how memory works. It made me a little more modest about how much trust I place in my own recollection of events; and, to be honest, causes me to be uneasy when I ruminate on it.
Having said that, there are positive aspects to this realization too.
These most recent blogs discussing behavioural neuroscience are framed around an incredible new book I was invited to review. It’s called Overloaded: How Every Aspect of Your Life is Influenced by Your Brain Chemicals, authored by Ginny Smith.
