Safe Injection Sites Are Humane
And it’s about time we recognize that!

We need to challenge the stigma that has long attended addiction as a mental health condition. There’s a good reason developed societies, like Canada, are moving away from punitive right-wing methods of tackling drug abuse and homelessness!
Lately, I’ve been developing a series of articles exploring the topic of mental illness. And one matter that is frequently raised in the context of homelessness or addiction is Safe Injection Sites. It’s an extremely serious and controversial matter. I’m completely for the use of them. But there are many who are vociferously against it.
By clicking on this blog, I presume you know what a Safe or Supervised Injection Site (SIS) is, but just so we’re all on the same page, Wikipedia defines Safe Injection Sites as,
“…medically supervised facilities designed to provide a hygienic environment in which people are able to consume illicit recreational drugs intravenously. The legality of such a facility is dependent by location and political jurisdiction.”
